Naked tipis – creating a new space at your wedding or event

A naked tipi is a visually beautiful way to create a new space at your wedding. A naked tipi usually consists of a tipi frame, fairy lights and matting. In the daytime, it can be used for the ceremony, the drinks reception, alfresco dining or a chill out area. At night, it will be a stunning feature to enjoy, lit up with fairy lights from the top to the bottom.

If you are thinking of ways to create more movement and flow, a naked tipi could be perfect for you as guests can be led from one space to the next as the day progresses.

If you are planning to create a larger ceremony space, then you may find a naked tipi an incredibly versatile option. A giant tipi is generally large enough for the celebrant, couple, wedding party and family to be under the frame, and additional seating could be added beyond the frame in a circle or semi-circle to accommodate as many people as you’d like to be present.

Naked tipis are incredibly versatile. The hand-whittled timber of tipi poles give all tipis a presence and architecture; decoration isn’t required to give a tipi or naked tipi atmosphere or a sense of character. In fact, a top tip from one of our brides is to not worry about not having enough decorations – the space will come alive once filled with your friends and family. A lot of clients choose to decorate with flowers, drapes and by suspending floral rings or lanterns from the apex.

What goes under your naked tipi is up to you. Some of our favourite looks for a chill out area include Morrocan rugs and soft furnishings, our full 16 piece white rattan furniture set to create a large lounge area, and using hay bales and picnic blankets around stacked crate tables to create pockets of seating…
